You may know that we’re releasing the 12-month Design Your Life Program very soon.
This will be our most comprehensive program so far. It’s based on the popular Life & Goal Organizer DIY system, but I’ve chunked it down and made it accountability-based with monthly workbooks, weekly e-classes, action plans, accountability checks and exclusive member forums.
We’re now finalizing the logo, and want to choose something that resonates with you – our readers and customers.
I’ll pick one commenter to receive an entire 12-month Design Your Life membership as a prize.

Above you’ll see 2 color combinations
Which do you prefer?

Above you’ll see 2 tag lines in addition to the topmost one.
Which do you prefer?
And thank you – I very much appreciate your time and thought.

I prefer color combination A (although there in not much difference.)
I passionately prefer “From Surviving to Thriving”! It is VASTLY better than the other two!

I think colourcombination A is easier on the eye. And it also kind of links ‘design’ to the stem of the tree and ‘your life’ to the leaves of the stem. And I agree that “From Surviving To Thriving” is without a doubt the best tag line.

I have quite different views to your other 2 comments
I like B think it is more balanced and I like Your New Life Starts Here as it is positive and has good vibes.and I know I want to do more than thrive

I also liked B, the purple words give continuity. Also I liked Your new Life Starts Here. I’m surviving and thriving, but need “new” organization techniques to make things go smoother as a mom of teen and pre-teen girls who are involved in many things! Thank you for the blog and information!

I like the version A colors, with ‘Your New Life Starts Here’.
The emphasis on the words ‘Your New’ are what does it for me, it is the most direct and the most personal of the three messages.
‘From Surviving to Thriving’ resonates more in the current climate, but has negative undertows.

Color combination A is better imho because you have the clear separation between the name of the program and the tag line.
I liked the tag line “Your New Life Starts Here” best because it’s the easiest to understand, even for non-native speakers like me
I must admit I just have a rough idea of what “thriving” might mean. As for the last line, I had to read it three times in order to get it. Maybe it’s just me?

I like A as far as color choices better: the idea of “life” paired with the green color makes sense on a psychological level.
In addition, I also prefer “The New You Starts Here ” because it reinforces the idea that the changes that your readers/subscribers will implement are really about changing how they behave to achieve their goals and an organized life.

Color choice A grabs me more.
“From Surviving to Thriving” gets me on a visceral level. It’s not as ‘polite’ as the others. People who will need the program (I think) will identify with this.

I like A1. I just let the design part draw my eye. “A” definitely did that over “B”. Surviving to Thriving is a very powerful concept. Most people want more than what they currently have and are.

I like the B colors better – I think the A looks asymmetrical to me.

While purple is my very favorite color in the whole world, I actually prefer COLOR Choice A. The words “your life” in green make me think of growth and the change in color sets it off more.
TAG LINES: #1 and #2 are both good and it is hard to decide between them. I vote for #2 as “your new life starts here” feels like a call to action…kind of like “click here” makes you want to do something. “Surviving to thriving” sounds good in this economy but may not have as long a life when the economy picks up.
Love the theme overall! Thanks for sharing – this was fun!

Colors: prefer ‘A’ because the colors appear more well balanced visually. having more green is ‘A’ more consistent with the theme of new life and a fresh start. (think Spring).
Tag Lines: prefer ’2′ because “Your New Life Starts Here” conjures up ideas of positive change that the program can bring. I find this rolls off the tongue better than ’3′ as well. I don’t prefer ’1′ because to say the status quo is just ‘Surviving’ has negative connotations and implies one is currently struggling and hence is only surviving – it doesn’t bring positive feelings upon reading unlike the other 2 tag lines.

Keeping “Design Your Life” all in one color maintains continuity of thought for your program and provides appealing color symmetry. As a tag line, “Your New Life Starts Here” indicates an ending and more than just a new beginning – there’s a whole new life waiting to be experienced!

I prefer A – We are on a path to greener, and the flow seems natural in A. To me it enhances the message
From Surviving to Thriving – A world where we have been conditioned, it is time that we take control of our lives and it is great to see so many people doing this and “Thriving”.
No longer is “The Man” in control.

Hi Michele,
I like A the best- love the colours and by-line “From surviving to thriving” will draw people in who are looking to change their lives in a dramatic way.

Michelle,
I know this may be a little left-field, however, I just recently read an artice on Feng Shui and Colour selection. Your two shoices were quite interesting and I have to admit that choice B is favourable to me. Why? Well, according to Feng Shui, purple is represented as fire, what this means in this logo is that fire=passion, that is the passion to change your life. It also should be interpreted in Northeast/Southwest direction which generates the most energy for your space. So in saying that, it gives me the impression of vitality and energy focus in my life.
Finally the colour green at the bottom represents Health and Vitality in Feng Shui, perfect for the tagline – From Striving to Thriving….I think that answers your question – Colour B with tagline 1!!!
Hope not too convoluted!

I like the B colour design better – it’s easier on the eye, and the flow of the colours is better. The logo is “Design Your Life” – with the change in colour for A, I find that I don’t think the “Your Life” part is actually included in the name.
I like the tag line “The New You Starts Here” best. Agree with comments re a bit of negativity re surviving to thriving, but also agree it suits current climate. Your new life starts here – sounds like a complete overhaul, and good for those who really need the complete change. However The new you starts here – appears to me like you’re taking the best bits of yourself, and building upon them, to make a better you.

I agree – A is best for colour and I personally prefer Your New Life Starts Here as “thriving” is not good enough for me either! (And I am the type who tends to change everything all at once, although I know not everyone is like that!)
Having said that (and I know it would mess up the design, or might) I think a more powwrful energy-rich word in between “Your” and “New” could be just what it needs and could tie in with the tree logo.
So something like Your Abundant New Life Starts Here or Your Beautiful New Life Starts Here.
Hope this helps! Can’t wait to see it!

Loved A and the A tag line as well, without doubt.
“Thriving” ties more meaning to the plant growth symbol for me. Love it.
There can always be new life but for that life to thrive well is something else.
The contrast word “surviving” is also meaningful to me as this is how I saw our life living in the city, compared to now living in Regional NSW.
Cheers

Hi Michele
Love Design A with half green, half purple colour.
am struggling with “From surviving to thriving” for no other reason than one has to put effort into thinking it through. your other choice “Your new life starts here” can be grasped quicker somehow. I prefer it. Good luck with this. Warmest wishes Catherine

Hello Michele and team,
For me color combination A is easier on the eye; creates a flow through the logo. And I agree with Carmel; “Thriving” combines very nicely with the plant symbol, which makes the new logo a whole, not just loose parts.
Exciting new program! Nice to see you’re in this advanced stage already

I preferred the B colour scheme as it helps the words ‘ Design your life’ flow more easily. The changes of font in the word ‘Design’, already create an interesting movement.
‘Your New Life Starts Here’ appealed more because it conjures up something more wild and wonderful than just thriving. Plus, it is more positive than using the word ‘you’ which infers that there could be something wrong with ‘you’ that has to be beaten into shape.

Colour scheme A…More green is calming, and having words in different colours gives each word more ‘punch’.
” From Surviving to Thriving” is my favourite for 2 reasons….the name rhymes and so rolls off the tongue and is easy to remember. Also because the other 2 have no ‘ownership’ of the life….sounds as though you are promising something which is not theirs, rather than improving what they already ‘own’.

If I had to choose, I would choose Design B, but please, please do NOT use Times New Roman for the serif font. I would highly recommend a font like Filosofia Unicase instead, available at http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/emigre/filosofia/unicase/
As for the slogan, I like “Your New Life Starts Here.”

Hi Michele I think the colours in A are well balanced and with 25 years in publishing i would go with “your new life” as it gives the client ownership. But at the end of the day which logo are YOU most passionate about?
As this will be the one that empowers the most!
Good luck.

Michele, whatever you decide on your designs are great! I am one for experiences so I tend towards B, just a little more pleasing on the eye and I agree with Cam and a few others that ‘you’ or ‘your’ is important so would go with ‘your new life starts here’
Best wishes

All the best, I love the energy in your posts and the valuable, specific techniques you give.

Re. colors, I like A. Somehow it seems a bit bolder and brighter. As I look again, I think it’s due to the contrast of colors. The green on “Your Life” jumped out at me.
Re. tag lines, I like “From Surviving to Thriving”. It feels more concrete to me. I have a better sense of how this book will help me in my life. To me, “a new you” or “your new life” seems more nebulous.
Also, I think it’s redundant to use “your” twice; your life, then your new life. Better to use a different word the second time.
Blessings…

I prefer colour combination B, as well as “From Surviving To Thriving ” – it puts focus on effectiveness and organization, rather than on making a drastic change to our habits, which could deter some people.

It took me a while to see the difference, but I think B is best, because the design refers to your life.
Definitely “from surviving to thriving” – at least, that’s what getting organised is all about for me.

For Colors I prefer A. I love purple so the more the merrier.
For the Tag Line, sorry I’m not in love with any of them. I’d prefer something like The Journey Begins Here or Your Journey Begins Here. Surviving etc can be a tongue twister and both of the others (New Life, New You) sound like other tags/logos I’ve heard before. I think your design is beautiful and should be more unique.
Thank you! I hope this helps!!!

Hi, Michele,
Hands down, I prefer Logo A, although ‘your life’ doesn’t stand out- I’d like to see it a little more bold so it stands out as much as the word Design. Love the green contrast with the purple – they are very soothing and calming colors (a lot like my own color scheme)!
For the tag line, I like ‘Your New Life Starts Here’ although it is somewhat vague and doesn’t give me a feeling of needing it because at first glance of the logo and tagline I don’t really know what this is- a product? a program? I’m also not crazy about the font and being in caps – I think it would look better in another font maybe with italics for emphasis.
Your products are great- I really enjoy the freebies you’ve so graciously given out! I’m a total neat-freak organizer and even I find your checklists to be extremely helpful!
Good luck- looks like you’ve got a lot of comments to take into consideration!
Warmly,
Angie Wycoff

I am 100% support version A – design – it is very subtle – but enough to feel more welcome – the colour or hue – is just a bit brighter – and that on a vibrational level – hit me more on a positive note.
Now with the tag line – I with out a doubt from “From Surviving To Thriving” – it tells me exactly what your systems will do for me – I don’t have to wonder – and where as the other two – I am not sure – suppose- I like the ‘old me’ – it assumes that their is something wrong with ‘me’ – rather – than I need to make a change in my habits and/or behaviours to have a better life – to ‘thrive’.
Blessings,
Ophelia – Spiritual Life Coach.

Hi and first of all thanks for your invitation to be your friend.
You got a lot of great comments here. My gut feeling right away was:
Design A because the green of Your Life to me denotes change, growth and feeling alive.
I loved “from surviving to thriving” it really makes the reader realize and feel where they are at and that they can thrive, i.e. be all that they can be and more.
Awesome! and thanks for asking for my opinion.
Wishing you much success and blessings,
Ann

Masthead design ‘B’ does it for me. Colors are quite applicable to ‘new beginnings’ — purple for regalia and green for earth/life/happiness.
Tag line ’2′ delivers a double knock out to your potential client because the word ‘life’ is used twice, both in tag and company name. Therefore the illustration to new life is created without necessarily portraying a victim perspective. Also, the double use of the word LIFE illustrates the overall PURPOSE of the 12-month program in a contemporary way…”kick the old you to the curb and say hello to the new you– right now!”
That’s my two-cents worth. Happy to help.
I AM (still)– “Going toward my destiny!”

Masthead design ‘B’ does it for me. Colors are quite applicable to ‘new beginnings’ — purple for regalia and green for earth/life/happiness.

B flows better, less interupted
Prefer #2 as a tagline, but my mind is buzzing with options 4, 5, 6, 7, etc.

Colour combination A is definately more appealing. It gives a sensation that life will be calmer afterwards. It sends out a really strong message.
Tagline – “from surviving to thriving” is fabulous, and it goes so well with the image, and the colour scheme A, as the whole message is about transition then, and it gives an impression that it will be a seamless, smooth and painless process.
I’m really excited to hear more about the programme soon!!!
Good luck with it all Michelle. I wish you every success.

I like design A with “Your new life starts here”
I’m not keen on the words “from surviving to thriving” – it sounds a bit too heavy and victim-y to me. Having used your ebook, I think you are much more practical than that. Also, the idea of a “new you” is a bit of a personal bugbear for me, as it suggests existing deep-rooted personal flaws (as opposed to practical problems which can be overcome by new habits and systems).

I prefer the B color scheme because the phrase isn’t broken up by 2 different colors. However, it took me a while to even see the difference.
I definitely prefer ‘Your New Life Starts Here’. ‘From Surviving to Thriving’ sounds clinical and boring to me. ‘New You’ sounds kind of tacky.
A ‘New Life’ is what we’re really looking for, right?
The overall colors and design are really nice.

I like the “b” color and the “from surviving to thriving” That’s the key of an organizational make over!!! A new life makes me feel that my “old life” was flawed and bad and that’s not a good personal image. Thank You!!

I prefer color scheme A best. It’s all about nuances when reaching people. Green leaves represent new life, vibrant health and balance within which is a fabulous symbolic connection to make with the words ‘your life’ in your logo! That’s exactly what you are helping people create in their lives.
My favorite tag line is ‘The New You Starts Here” because change begins with the self – “You’ – I want to change me first and then my life will flow from there. It’s also short and catchy. ‘From Surviving to Thriving’ is a bit of a tongue twister and holds a lower vibration. It is also very used in regards to breast cancer ‘survivors’ – not sure you want to make that connection.
Here’s to enjoying the creative process!!

Hello
My preference is Colour B, flows well, and visually balanced.
The tag I prefer is from Surviving to Thriving, my office situation is I seem to bounce from one project to the other and unable to make progress.

I prefer B with From Surviving to Thriving. It feels more cohesive with the top line all one text color. It also makes the tagline stand out more by not matching the top.
One other option that’s not on the table yet is to break up the color on the top line like you did on A, make the tagline be a bit brighter green so it jumps out more. Then it would be really cool because it says Your Life on the top line, then bottom line says From Surviving to Thriving.
To me, those are the three concepts you want to have pop out “Design” “Your Life” (I find it redundant with you, your, or your life in the tagline as well as the top line)and “From Surviving to Thriving.” That’s memorable when you separate it out or put it together “Design Your Life: From Surviving to Thriving” Makes sense? If not, email me

Hi
I prefer colour option B best – continuity of header being one colour and tagline another.
I like both tagline’s, as they both suggest progress within one’s ability to create and achieve. However, I do prefer the tagline “from surviving to thriving” because it encompases how without a “design for life” we as individuals ( friends, family, colleagues) can be simply live to survive, rather than thriving from working towards & achieving our own goals.

I like logo A and “Your new life starts here” I think would be more inviting and energizing to new clients. I love the tree – it jumps off the page and had me thinking of tag lines like “Burst into Life” or Plant the Seed.
How to Survive and Thrive is a tag line for a Relationship and Life Coaching Company in America and I would associate it with that.
Love the colours (I used to use them) and clean style.

I like B and 1.
I think thriving is a great word, it certainly isn’t mediocre. Here is the quick definition from dictionary.com:
1. to prosper; be fortunate or successful.
2. to grow or develop vigorously; flourish:
I could deal with either of those!

I like color combo B the best. I think A doesn’t have quite enough purple.
For the tagline, I like From Surviving To Thriving best. There is a reason.
The “new life” and “new you” seems harder to accomplish than MOVING UP from surviving to thriving, which I can relate to more easily. I do like all of the choices though. I can’t wait for the info! I am really making progress getting organized but I really need to get more done!

A and A.
The colour combo is a bit more energetic and it draws more attention to “your life”, which is, after all, what you’ll be redesigning.
For the tagline, ‘new life’ is too repetitive given the ‘life’ in the main title, and ‘new you’? I don’t think it quite suits. It shouldn’t be about changing ‘you’. It’s about reorganising your life to better suit ‘you’. Hence, I choose from thriving to surviving, which is also nice on the ears.

I like B with the purple continued from DESIGN. I think it makes the connection to the fact that you are offering to ‘design’ the clients life clearer. Then the tag line is a different colour which shows that that is a further benefit.
Then I much prefer the tagline ‘from surviving to thriving’. With the other two tags,I find the implication that I want or need a ‘new life’ hard. My life is not that awful, it just needs some tweaks which a program like your one would give it. I often feel that I am merely surviving and thus the attraction to move to a position where I might thrive, is great.
Good luck with it. I do love the tree and all that it’s use represents.

My preference in terms of color is option A — I like the symbolism of the colors connecting to the truck & leaves of the tree.
As to the tagline — definitely prefer “The New You Starts Here”. Whatever we’ve experienced up until now has brought us to this new point. The New You Starts Here feels like a “life re-set”. We’re “clearing the decks” and starting fresh.
Thanks for this great new tool and best of luck!

I like colour B and the From surviving to thriving, because usually when people ask me how im doing, the standard answer is Surviving! Wont they get a shock once your programme has changed my life and they get an “Im thriving” response?

Also, thanks for letting us give our input into your logo and tagline. I think some of the world’s best ideas are generated this way!

I definitely like option B better – with two colors the thought gets broken. You may want to consider using the font you used for “Design” for “your life” as well to maintain continuity.
Your audience is people who are already insterested in organization, goal setting, accountability, etc. Your product is a new and realistic (with the chunking of activities) way to gain the above. But I’m thinking it is probably a “redesign” not just a blank canvas to begin with for many of your readers. You may want to think about using “Redesign your life.”
I got stuck on the taglines. The word “life” shouldn’t be used because you have it above. “Survive to thrive” is what I think the audience will do, but it won’t necessarily resonate because it doesn’t include anything that says “you.” Some words you might want to throw around are “cultivate” (especially with the tree), “foster,” “transform,” “grow,” and “produce” and “strengthen” followed by “your” and a synonym for “life.” Perhaps “Cultivate (or “Grow into”) the best you.” Something like that anyway!
And l love the tree – it’s a perfect representation of organized growth.

I perfer A, in the first example, although I really had to look to notice the difference in color.
I perfer the first tag as well….I don’t particularily want a new me or a new life, I just like to be organized!
Thanks for the opportunity to participate!

Hi Michele,
I prefer design B, it’s symmetry is very pleasing to the eye. As for the tag line I think “The new you starts here” encapsulates it all, a “new you” gives you a new life, a new outlook and takes you from surviving to thriving.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment and good luck!!

Design B is the way to go. The tree is a good color contrast that ties the taglines together so for marketing purposes you’ll want each line of words to be one color so it just flows and isn’t too busy.
Option 1 is the best choice because it changes things up and doesn’t repeat any words. Also, the 2nd and 3rd choices feel like running from where option one is running to. (ex. running from the stick as opposed to running to the carrot.) I think part of the goal in learning to be organized is the transition one wants to make in going from a stick runner to a carrot go getter.

I like design A. I usually like things symetical and balanced, but this choice breaks it up more so you see it all better instead of blending in. I took a quick peek before really looking at them both and I could definitely see Choice A better – it popped more (because it didn’t blend) I suppose some of the comments about “From Surviving to Thriving has negative undertones” is correct, but I still like this line the best as I am definitely only surviving at this point in my life and need to get to the thriving stage, so I like this much better and it gets your attention. Good Luck.

They’re all good, but I believe that:
1) A is better because it draws the eye in to focus on the important part.
2) “Your new life starts here” because that’s what the client is searching for (they already understand that they will go from surviving to thriving, but that phrase just reminds them that they’re barely getting by) and the other phrase just focuses on one person, whereas the client may be a person who runs the entire household & needs to re-vamp everything from a-z, in addition to themselves, the person.
Overall, it’s great – that’s just my two cents.
Thanks for all you do & kudos on the new product & logo & tagline!
Best,
Rach

On the colours: I like the slightly more vibrant A. I also found it slightly easier to read.
On the taglines: I prefer From surviving to thriving!
I initially liked “your new life starts here,” but while I was writing my colour comments, I began to feel … broken. It went from a “fresh start” interpretation, to “I’m broken and need repair.” Yes – I need help. But I do feel I am surviving, and perhaps a little more. I want to thrive! But don’t need a whole new start, just a course correction.
Thanks for asking for my input. Great new product, very well done so far. Just what I expect from you.

I prefer B for the color. “Design your life” all in one color, it looks more together and flows smoothly. What a great design!
For the tag lines: I absolutely like “The New You Starts Here”. If I win the 12 month “Design Your Life” program, I will still have my old life–my husband, my dog, my job, my friends. But I WILL BE NEW in the old life, with new ideas, new techniques, new management of time, new goals. What a fantastic thought! I really will be thriving instead of just surviving.
Thank you, Michele.

I like “your new life starts here.” The design is similar enough so that you can choose any of them and not go wrong. assuming you also work with people who are not just surviving but thriving and yet not thriving to the extent they want to be. Lorrie

Hi Michele,
My vote is for the color combo B because the continuity in the color goes with the phrase.. wouldn’t want to break the phrase by changing colors.
I like the tag line #1 From Surviving to Thriving because I think it really captures how people feel, that they are just surviving in current mode of operation. I prefer that over creating something new for a couple of reasons: NEW sounds like TOO MUCH WORK and like starting over. We can capitalize on our strengths and experiences as we work to better ourselves and create the life want. We all want to THRIVE!
I appreciate your expertise. You have really motivated me! I hope that I win the prize! I know it will be valuable to anyone using it!

Hi Michele:
It took me awhile to see the differences in the two designs . I like the A color combination. It starts with purple and ends with green writing. When I see green for money. I need to try to save a small part of my disability each month so there is a small balance carried over in my account.

Hey Michele,
Color B
I would go with design B for the colors. It has a more uniform and balanced look with the colors. I feel that this design better suits the product since it is to balance your life. However, I noticed that the tail of the “y” from “design your life” connects to the line that underlines “design your life,” unlike design A. I like the look of the “y” dipping slightly below the line in design A.. I would change design B to do the same thing.
Tag Line 3
I choose “The new you starts here.” It rolls of the tongue better than the other two. The first one has a negative air about it which may put people off a little and the second one… its fine but I just think the third option is a bit more catchy.

Hi Michelle,
I like Color A because you go from the red color of just surviving to the green color of thriving and growing and it becomes kind of spiritual. It is a great logo and a great idea.
So I guess you know that I like Tag line 1 From Thriving to Surviving it is really insightful into not only many people’s lives, but my life! My life of mom to 4 , one in college – three still home ages 13 thru 4 – Home Office, fibromyalgia, migraines, and DH of 21 years. I want to go from just surviving to thriving, to being like that tree in your logo, all green and vibrant and healthy! That is too cool!

I like the last one, it’s catchy – a call to action – and very appealing visually.
Your new life starts here.
Love to interview and jv with you by the way, my tagline is Design A Life of Rich Rewards, I’m all about life makeovers!

Hi Michelle
I like colour combination A because through a change in colour from purple to green, it represents a distinct evolution from the current state to the intended future state. Green is also the colour for go, and reflects the colour of grass, nature and ecology.
This aligns with my favourite tagline of “from surviving to thriving” which again implies a positive metamorphosis from one state to another. When I read this tagline I immediately feel a sense of relief that this offers a solution for me, and is something I want to check out further. I am “called to action”. That I could thrive even though I am currently just surviving amidst a busy life with fours busy gorgeous boys.
I can’t wait to read more about your exciting programme and how I can shift from surviving to thriving…
Love & laughter

I prefer “From Surviving to Thriving” and the A. I like A because it shows a change as the letters go through the design. I also like the last part being in green as green is indicative of a green, living, thriving plant. I like the words Surviving to Thriving as that is where a lot of people are – just surviving. With your hints and advice we can move on to thriving as we design our lives to be less cluttered and more efficiently run.

I like the color combination B. The continuity of color seems calmer and more balanced which is what the program can provide. I also like the 1st tag line. For me, that’s what it is all about. I am merely surving right now, just barely holding my head above water. I don’t want a new life, I want my life. I just want to thrive in all areas of MY life.
Thanks fo the opportunity.

I prefer A – I like the green more.
From surviving to thriving – how many of us just survive through another day, week, month or year – how much better to thrive!

I prefer color B, seems more streamlined. I (like many others, it seems) prefer the “Surviving to Thriving” tagline. To me it seems more like an improvement on what you’ve got, which we’re all looking for. Whereas, the “new life” or “new you” seems more like a need to fix or replace something which makes you feel somethings wrong with you. I’m probably over-analyzing on that last bit, but it’s just my opinion.
