Default Muster up memory boxes

Muster up memory boxes.

1. Find or buy some attractive boxes – one for each family member.
2. Kids might like to cover theirs in re-cycled wrapping paper.
3. Label them with the person’s name. A sharpie or texta will do, or make a nice label if you want to spend extra time.
4. Place them in each person’s room, or a family room, or the study – wherever is most tidy and appealing.

And you’re done!

Now you can have somewhere neat and handy to put kids’ paintings, wedding keepsakes and other items you can’t yet bring yourself to throw away.

Remember: 1. Move fast. 2. Don’t overthink. 3. Feel great about getting organized!

Start the 5-minute timer now.

OK this is DONE!

I only required a box for my miss 7 as everyone else (apart from Hubby) can let go if prompted. Hubby didn't like the idea of possibly getting rid of his stuff in the future so refused a box lol.

I was telling my Mum about what a great idea this was and she told me that she had a draw in the kitchen that all my kindy artwork would go into after it had been proudly displayed on the fridge. When the draw was getting full, she would just remove the items from the bottom and bin them when I wasn't looking so I think I will adapt miss 7's box to be similar to my kindy draw.

Your Mum sounds like she knows a thing or two about clutter management!

Default Memory Box

It's just me and my husband, so I just use one box to save the things I think I might want to put in a scrap book. Our wedding pictures, places we go, grand children etc... One of these days I'll get around to creating the memory books, but at least I have put it in one place.

I just have one box, too.
When it starts to get too full I feel OK about letting go of some of the older items. It's a nice way to hold on to things for a little while.

I'm moving abroad soon, so I got a bag instead of a box.

I started memory boxes for the kids when they were born and they were full to the brim already. They've now been culled and tidied, ready for new treasures!
