Lately a few customers have reported getting this error when they try to purchase via PayPal:
Quote:
|
"Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address."
|
This happens even when they are
purchasing a download and there is no shipping required.
This occurs when PayPal attempts to verify the address provided during the checkout process (we are required to collect billing address in case any local or country taxes need to be charged) and can't isolate it.
It is usually caused by having too much information in the billing address (eg using your city in the optional address line, or repeating the suburb into the city field).
Suggested Fix
It is very frustrating, as there is no clear way to fix it, however the following suggestions may help:
First, ensure the address you enter is exactly the same as the address on your credit card or bank statement.
Second, if that still doesn't work, go to
Google Maps and search for your address using the same format you used during the checkout process on our site. If Google can't find your address, there is a good chance PayPal won't be able to either.
Keep refining your address in Google Maps until it shows the exact location. This should now work in PayPal too.
I hope this helps.
