Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!
In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to express-organize your pantry.
Let’s start.
Day 21: Organize Your Pantry
Step 1: Grab a bag and open your pantry. Quickly scanning your shelves from top to bottom, toss into the bag anything that:
- Has passed its use-by date
- Is stale or unappetizing
- No-one eats.
Step 2: Do a quick tidy of the remaining items in your pantry.
And you’re done!
Got an Extra 5 Minutes?
- Wipe down your pantry shelves.
- Check your stores of pantry staples. Add anything you need to your shopping list.
- Notice anything you have in excess supply. Make a mental note to stop buying these items.
Now doesn’t that feel fresher!

Managed this one this morning. It is handy to see what you have loads of in order to plan your menus around what you have, maybe that is normal to others but not for me. I tend to go shopping and buy what I need for what I want to cook (rarely!) or have cooked for me (he is the chef in our house). Also, this was an opportunity to consider items that aren’t so good for you and remove those from the house. I know that healthy eating is likely to be one of my goals when I get to the goal setting stage, but this I suppose is a realisation and a baby step in the right direction.
When you’re ready you’ll also find helpful strategies for healthy eating over at my other site, http://www.52WeightLossMissions.com. 🙂
Done! It’s surprising how little time it takes to clean up and wipe down that many shelves 🙂
