30-Day Organize-athon | Day 24: Organize Your Bedside Area

30-Day Organize-athon 24

Welcome to the 30-Day Organize-athon!

In today’s 5 minutes we’re going to organize your bedside table or nightstand.

Cool – let’s do it.

Day 24: Organize Your Bedside Area

Step 1: Remove anything from your bedside area that detracts from a sense of calm and tranquility, such as:

  • Computers, printers, laptops
  • TV
  • Paperwork
  • Kids’ toys
  • Exercise equipment
  • Work projects
  • Mobile phone
  • Laundry
  • Too many books
  • Too many magazines
  • Excess furniture
  • Random clothes
  • Unpleasant alarm.

Step 2: Toss or donate anything you don’t need or love.

Step 3: Relocate anything that belongs elsewhere.

And you’re done!

Got an Extra 5 Minutes?

Create a sanctuary around your bed. Add any of these to help create a relaxing, sleep-inviting space:

  • Lovely bed linen
  • Fluffy pillows
  • Cozy blankets and comforters
  • Soft lamps
  • Pleasant bedtime reading
  • Relaxing music and iPod dock
  • Water glass and bottle
  • A gentle alarm
  • Sleeping mask – if the sun disturbs you in the early morning
  • Ear plugs – if you need them
  • Scented candles or oil burner.

*yawns* Nap time anyone?

The 30-Day Organize-athon Mantra

Move fast. Don’t overthink. Let it go!

A quick 5 minutes, and done! I took an empty glass upstairs, and tossed an empty bottle of eye drops, dusted, fluffed the pillows, and now all is tidy and welcoming.
    Happy Easter!

  2. Helene M. says:

Done. It is already an electronic-free area, but I realized I rarely dust in the bedroom, because I leave the door closed. Done! I even emptied the space under the bed. Easier to vacuum now. Happy Easter!

  3. Tanya says:

I loved this one – my bedside table always gets cluttered quite fast and I remembered I had a night carafe and glass for water in the kitchen – particularly needed right now as any noise overhead wakes the puppy and then he starts yipping for attention in the small hours!

  4. Klee Wolf says:

Well, mine is not just the bedside, but the right side of my bed!!!!
I am proud to say that now my full bed is clutter free for sleeping only!
    Happy Easter!

Just did this yesterday and wonders of wonders, had such a good night’s sleep last night. Thanks for all the great suggestions.

  6. Kati C. says:

Yay! Perfect way to start my Easter morning – this cleaning stuff is so refreshing and leaves me in such a good mood because I’m starting my day off right away by accomplishing something!
