52 Organizing Missions

Welcome to the second of our 52 Organizing Missions.

If you completed last week’s Get Organized Mission (Fill a-Hu-u-uge- Trash-Bag) you’re probably feeling pretty fabulous right now.

If not – what are you waiting for!

This week we’re getting organized on a smaller scale.

We’re about to streamline the receptacle you take with you into the world each day – purse, tote, handbag, wallet, briefcase, capacious carpetbag, whatever.

Our group responses are as follows:Organize your purse, tote, man-bag, briefcase, satchel, book-bag, or whatever generally accompanies you when you’re out and about.
Clear out the clutter by emptying everything out of your bag and place items on a table to sortinto piles: Electronics; Feminine or masculine care products; Gift cards, coupons, and loyalty cards; Makeup; Medication; Wallet, money, and credit cards; Trash: after sort is completed throw trash away. Remove the items you seldom use.
De-clutter your wallet of old receipts, decrepit photos, loyalty cards for places you rarely visit, business cards, random papers, credit or store cards you don’t need, and any other random items.
After everything is sorted then neatly pack the items you use the most first. This includes things like your wallet, sunglasses, keys, hand sanitizer, and lip balm, etc. Purchase travel size items for your purse or bag. Here are some items that you can put into separate pouches or zip loc bags; Manicure sets; Medication; Feminine or masculine care products; Pens, pencils, post-its, and other stationary items
The following are suggested items to put in your purse or bag:
Wallet: ID, driver’s license or state ID, credit cards [only carry one for emergencies; so you don’t spend unnecessary money], medical device identification card, medical insurance card etc; Keys [only carry house & car keys); Cell phone; Small make-up purse (lipstick or lip balm, mascara, mirror, small bottle of fragrance); Small tissue pack; Small, light umbrella (I walk a lot so I always keep one in my bag); Sunglasses or spare set of prescription glasses; Hand cream; Mints; Pen and notebook; Pocket calendar; Aspirins or pain medication; Water bottle; Current class material; Small change purse; Eye glass case. Keep your receipts in an envelope or mini accordion style file holder.
Keep your purse or bag organized: Put things away into their designated places as soon as you are done using them. This includes putting loose change into a coin purse or your wallet.
De-clutter your purse or bag once a week or before monthly bills come due.

Get Organized Wizard Excellent tips, as usual. Thank you to the group. Zip loc bags are the best! :)Reply · Nov 22 2016
